During his career, Mr. Sloan has had in-depth hands-on experience in many areas of publishing including: editorial management, advertising sales and management, budgeting and finance, marketing, research, mobile applications, webinars, consumer shows, staff training, brand positioning, brand extensions, social networking, startups, M&A, magazine cover design, business plans, consumer marketing, TV and video, international licensing and international publishing management.
Mr. Sloan has been a speaker at industry events including the American Magazine Conference and the Association of Magazine Media’s Independent Magazine Group (IMAG). He has also taught seminars on magazine business and international publishing at the Association of Magazine Media and has written about special-interest enthusiast publications for Folio magazine.
